Triin Sakermaa (soprano) was born in Tallinn, and began piano studies aged 5.
She made her first steps as a singer in the Tallinn-based girls’ studio choir Ellerhein.
Triin attained higher education from Tartu University as an ecology specialist from 2006−2011, during which time she sang with Tartu University Female Choir, where her vocal coach was Viviane Kallaste.
For a long time since, Triin has been a member of the chamber choirs Voces Musicales, and the chamber female choir Sireen.
Triin remembers the first time she heard the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in a powerful performance of Veljo Tormis’ Curse Upon Iron. To sing in this choir seemed to be unattainable at that time. Triin became a regular singer with the choir in 2017.
She is polishing her vocal skills now with Kaia Urb.
Besides singing, Triin is active in different projects for environmental protection across the cultural sphere, and recently helped to erect the bird watch tower on the seashore near Tallinn. In her spare time she likes to take part in yoga lessons, listen to music, and read books.
